Tuesday April 9th - Holts Auctioneers
Holts Auctioneers are
coming to The Country Sports Shop to provide valuations on shotguns and rifles
to anyone who is interested in more information on their gun. Holts have a
wealth of knowledge on older guns and have specialists in old English side by
sides and odd calibres.
Thursday April 11th - Ashcombe Evening Clay Shoot
Ashcombe Adventure Centre are running their usual Thursday evening club, shooting 4pm 'till late for 50 bird shoot, go around twice if you have the time.
Wednesday April 17th - Deer Butchery Course
Another evening with
Phil showing us how to part a deer carcass out into useful meat such joints,
chops as well of course as burgers and sausages. This is a very interesting
evening with a light hearted approach to butchering a deer along with some
nibbles and drinks to make it a very pleasant evening.
Wednesday April 24th - Deer Walk & Talk
An opportunity to spend some time with an experienced Deer Manager showing you deer browse lines, racks, couches and droppings as well and answering questions regarding deer and deer management. There will also be a tour of the larder with a talk on how the carcass is turned into produce. This event is held in East Devon at Clinton Devon Estate with their resident Deer Manager Tom Garner the fee for the Walk & Talk
Tuesday May 14th - Metallic Cartridge Reloading
This course is designed to offer the non or less experienced shooter an opportunity to go through safe handling, use and shooting of centre fire rifles. Devon & Cornwall are dropping their insistence on mentoring but do want to know that the shooter asking for a centre fire rifle can show some form of competency in handling and shooting of a rifle. Saturday May 25th - Deer Walk & Talk

June 8th June - National ladies Shoot Day

Sunday 23rd June - Simulated Game Shoot
Chris and Ol are putting on another Simulated Game Shoot up the Teign Valley, a great day that really some simulate a game shoot (so not just a clever name) with shooters meeting for breakfast at a local hostelry, two drives, lunch in the field, two more drives then dinner back at the local hostelry. Limited spaces, food, drinks and ammunition required, just bring your gun and your shotgun certificate all for just £150!
